Nittany Valley Animal Rescue

Nittany Valley Animal Rescue is a nonprofit organization based in Central Pennsylvania, dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals in need. We serve both small and large animals, providing compassionate care, safe placement, and a path forward for animals who have been overlooked, abandoned, or left without reliable support.

What started as a simple effort to help stray and at-risk animals has grown into a long-term commitment to our community. We believe every animal deserves safety, dignity, and the chance to live a healthy life in the right environment—whether that means a loving forever home, a responsible working placement, or a humane return to their outdoor colony through managed care.

Our Mission

Our mission is to reduce suffering and improve animal welfare throughout Central Pennsylvania through:

• Rescue and rehoming support

• Spay and neuter assistance programs

• Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) / trap-and-release programs for feral and free-roaming animals

• Community education and outreach

What We Do

Rescue & Rehoming
We take in animals when we can, coordinate foster care, and work closely with veterinary partners to ensure animals are treated and prepared for adoption or placement.

Spay & Neuter Support
Preventing future suffering is part of responsible rescue. Our spay and neuter assistance programs help reduce overpopulation and support healthier communities for both animals and people.

TNR / Trap & Release Programs
For feral and free-roaming animals, humane trap-neuter-return helps stabilize populations and prevents repeated cycles of kittens, injury, and illness. This program is one of the most effective long-term solutions to community animal overpopulation.

Partnerships & Outreach
We work alongside local veterinarians, shelters, volunteers, and community partners to expand resources, respond quickly, and build sustainable solutions.
